My favorite thing about being a docent is being able to share my knowledge of nature with the public, especially children.

Initially I wanted to be a Winter Wildlife Docent at Point Reyes National Seashore solely because of my love for the wildlife and my desire to inspire a passion for conservation in others. While this is still an important component to me, one of my favorite things about being a docent is the opportunity to spend time with and learn from other docents. I am both humbled and honored to be a part of this program.

My docent work and training enriches my life by teaching me so much about our marine mammals and the PORE environment and allowing me to meet & interact with visitors from all over the world. I love helping visitors, especially young people, understand the importance of land conservation and these magnificent mammals.
