I was fortunate enough to be able to spend Friday, December 15th with Sarah Codde. We did a site survey of each of the Elephant Seal Colonies at Point Reyes National Seashore. We started at the Elephant Seal Overlook, then went to three sites off of the Chimney Rock Trail, South Beach and Finally the Main Colony. During our survey, we saw many yearlings and immature elephant seals as well as a handful of sub-adult males and bulls. We did not see any definitively pregnant females. Hopefully they will be arriving soon.
